Anna Ilieva-Alikaj finds inspiration in the things around us: objects, glass, flowers, food and elements from nature.
Each photograph tells a story of its own, shaped by a particular atmosphere and inspired by nature, mythology and philosophies of life. Her work moves from classical still life to the beauty of imperfection and the essential nature of Wabi-Sabi, as well as the fleeting nature of life explored through Vanitas.
From abundance and movement to extreme minimalism, Anna explores different ways of seeing and interpreting the world. What connects these approaches is her attention to detail and her desire to reveal the stories hidden in ordinary things, often through a conceptual approach.
